GODS VERITABLE

Those who melt iron
Those who design the machine
Those who squeeze the sugarcane juice
Those who plunge into the seas for pearls –
Shedding drops of sweat
Taking up a thousand jobs around the world,
I sing of your glory.
You are Brahma’s art manifest.

Those who make the earthenware
Those who work on wood
Those who give fruits to eat
Those who plough and plant
Those who bring oil, milk and ghee
Those who spin and weave our dress –
Gods preserve us from above.
You preserve us from within the world.

Those who compose songs and verses
Those who dance and act
Those who enrich knowledge
Delving deep into the nature of things
Those who establish the order of justice
Those who feed us with pleasures sought –
With no doubt can I say this,
You are gods veritable.

இரும்பைக் காய்ச்சி உருக்கிடு வீரே!
யந்தி ரங்கள் வகுத்திடு வீரே!
கரும்பைச் சாறு பிழிந்திடுவிரே!
கடலில் முழ்கிநன் முத்தெடுப் பீரே!
அரும்பும் வேர்வை உதிர்த்துப் புவிமேல்
ஆயிரந் தொழில் செய்திடு வீரே!
பெரும்பு கழ்நுமக் கேயிசைக் கின்றேன்.
பிரம தேவன் கலையிங்கு நீரே!
மண்ணெ டுத்துக் குடங்கள் செய்வீரே!
மரத்தை வெட்டி மனைசெய்கு வீரே!
உண்ணக் காய்கனி தந்திடு வீரே!
உழுது நன்செய்ப் பயிரிடு வீரே!
எண்ணெய், பால்நெய் கொணார்ந்திடு வீரே!
இழையை நூற்றுநல் லாடைசெய் வீரே!
விண்ணி னின்றெமை வானவர் காப்பார்;
மேவிப் பார்மிசைக் காப்பவர் நீரே!
பாட்டுஞ் செய்யுளுங் கோத்திடு வீரே!
பரத நாட்டியக் கூத்திடு வீரே!
காட்டும் வையப் பொருள்களின் உண்மை
கண்டு சாத்திரம் சேர்த்திடு வீரே!
நாட்டி லேயறம் கூட்டி வைப்பீரே;
நாடும் இன்பங்கள் ஊட்டி வைப்பீரே;
தேட்ட மின்றி விழியெதிர் காணும்
தெய்வ மாக விளங்குவிர் நீரே!
