Lest I should be beset with woes,
Desirous of gold, promotion and fame that I am,

Poverty and fear have set in my heart;
Pleading for routing them out,
Surrender do I unto You, Kannamma,
I surrender myself unto You.

Dispelling the disquietitude of willful action,
To act on Your will and become content,
Surrender do I unto You, Kannamma,
I surrender myself unto You.

No distress, no weariness and no defeat heretofore,
To cultivate virtues in the path of love,
Surrender do I unto You, Kannamma,
I surrender myself unto You.

We know no distinction between the good and the evil.
Mother! Establish the good! Chase the evil away!
Surrender do I unto You, Kannamma,
I surrender myself unto You.

கண்ணம்மா என் குலதெய்வம்

நின்னைச் சரணடைந்தேன் - கண்ணம்மா!
நின்னைச் சரணடைந்தேன்!

சரணங்கள்
பொன்னை உயர்வைப் புகழை விரும்பிடும்
என்னைக் கவலைகள் தின்னத் தகாதென்று (நின்னை)

மிடிமையு மச்சமு மேவிபென் னெஞ்சிற்
குடிமை புகுந்தன, கொன்றவை போக்கென்று (நின்னை)

தன்செய லெண்ணித் தவிப்பது தீர்ந்திங்கு
நின்செயல் செய்து நிறைவுபெறும் வணம் (நின்னை)
துன்ப மினியில்லை, சோர்வில்லை, தோற்பில்லை,
அன்பு நெறியில் அறங்கள் வளர்த்திட (நின்னை)

நல்லது தீயது நாமறியோ மன்னை!
நல்லது நாட்டுக! தீமையை யோட்டுக! (நின்னை)
