WAKE UP TO BLESS US

Dawned has it! By virtue of our penance
The dark moments of ignorance are gone forever.

The rising golden rays spread everywhere.
And lo! The sun of intellect rises and remains.
Thousands of us your devotees stand around you
To worship, praise and make obeisance.
Our Mother! How’s it you are still asleep?
It is a surprise indeed! Wake up to bless us.

Birds chirp. Drum beat about.
The song of freedom surges everywhere.
Listen to the call of the white conch.
Women have assembled on every street.
The learned chant the Vedas and your noble name.
Our Mother, the sweetest ambrosia!
Our life dear, wake up to bless us.

பாரத மாதா திருப்பள்ளியெழுச்சி

பொழுது புலர்ந்தது; யாம்செய்த தவத்தால்
புன்மை யிருட்கணம் போயின யாவும்
எழுபசும் பொற்சுடர் எங்கணும் பரவி
யெழுந்து விளங்கிய தறிவெனும் இரவி;
தொழுதுனை வாழ்த்தி வணங்குதற் கிங்குன்
தொண்டர்பல் லாயிரர் சூழ்ந்துநிற் கின்றோம்
விழிதுயில் கின்றனை யின்னுமெந் தாயே!
வியப்பது காண்! பள்ளி யெழுந்தரு ளாயே!
புள்ளினம் ஆர்த்தன; ஆர்த்தன முரசம்;
பொங்கிய தெங்குஞ் சுதந்திர நாதம்;
வெள்ளிய சங்கம் முழங்கின கேளாய்;
வீதியெ லாமணு குற்றனர் மாதர்;
தெள்ளிய அந்தணர் வேதமும் நின்றன்
சீர்த்திரு நாமம் ஓதிநிற் கின்றார்;
அள்ளிய தெள்ளமு தன்னையெம் அன்னை!
ஆருயி ரே! பள்ளி யெழுந்தரு ளாயே!
