SALUTE TO THE NATION

This is the land where our
Father and mother lived happily and in harmony;
And where our ancestors lived thousands of years
And where in their minds arose and flourished thousands of noble thoughts.

Don’t I praise, appreciate and salute my nation?
And I bow to thee Mother! I bow to the Mother to salute you my nation.

This is the land which gave us life
Nourishing and nurturing and blessing us
And wherein our mothers learnt warbling
And wherein they enjoyed moon light in their maidenhood
And where they enjoyed themselves in the scintillating
Showers and happily entered into husbandry.
And I bow to thee Mother! I bow to thee Mother to salute you.

This is the land where our women
Nurtured the household beautifully
And wherein their celestial babes
Were nourished with elixir nicely.
And where the temples surrounded
With the noble notion of people’s betterment
And where the celestial souls attained the
Heavenly abode.
I bow to thee Mother! I bow to thee and I salute you.

எந்தையுந் தாயு மகிழ்ந்து குலாவி
யிருந்தது மிந்நாடே-அதன்
முந்தைய ராயிர மாண்டுகள் வாழ்ந்து
முடிந்தது மிந்நாடே-அவர்
சிந்தையி லாயிர மெண்ணம் வளர்ந்து
சிறந்தது மிந்நாடே-இதை
வந்தனை கூறி மனதி லிருத்திபென்
வாயுற வாழ்த்தேனோ-இதை
வந்தே மாதரம், வந்தே மாதரம்

இன்னுயிர் தந்தெமை யீன்று வளர்த்தரு
ளீந்தது மிந்நாடே-எங்கள்
அன்னையர் தோன்றி மழலைகள் கூறி
அறிந்தது மிந்நாடே-அவர்
கன்னிய ராகி நிலவினி லாடிக்
களித்தது மிந்நாடே-தங்கள்
பொன்னுட லின்புற நீர்விளை யாடியில்
போந்தது மிந்நாடே-அவர்

மங்கைய ராயவர் இல்லற நன்கு
வளர்த்தது மிந்நாடே-அவர்
தங்க மதலைக ளீன்றமு தூட்டித்
தழுவிய திந்நாடே-பின்னர்
அங்கவர் மாய அவருடற் பூந்துகள்
ஆர்ந்தது மிந்நாடே-இதை
வந்தே மாதரம், வந்தே மாதரம்
